ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ANTHROPOLOGY MUSEUM
The Department of Anthropology at Washington State University in Pullman, WA, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, permanent, Administrative Professional position as Assistant Director of the Anthropology Museum beginning August 16, 2013. We seek an anthropologist to coordinate the administration of and manage the day to day operation of the Museum of Anthropology, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and promote, facilitate, and participate in research related to the Museum’s collections. The position will be responsible for initiating and managing external grants, contracts, and budgets for the curation of archaeological collections. Duties will include overseeing the care and access to collections by qualified WSU and external researchers in compliance with State and Federal Curation regulations and managing relationships with American Indian Tribes represented in the collections. Additionally the position will be responsible for managing University responsibilities under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
Minimum Required qualifications include:
• A PhD in Anthropology or related field
• experience in archaeological collections management
• teaching experience is required
